It's a sad thing, but my wife is going through a post- Harry Potter depression. He loved reading those, and alas, they are gone. Has anyone got any suggestions for her on what to attack next?
How about His Dark Materials? The books are better than the movie(s).
If she likes the whole Urban Fantasy genre, I'd recommend Charles DeLint & Wil Sheppardly.
If she wants a classic Fantasy series, Elizabeth Moon's Paksenarrion series is very good.
Lois McMaster Bujold has a new series based in a fantasy world called The Sharing Knife. Another series from her is the Curse of Charon series, also very good.
Tanya Huff is an excellent author with multiple series - one an Urban Fantasy, another a pure Fantasy world.
Terry Pratchett - fantasy, coming of age, mystery, satire, comedy, and so so much more :)
Garth Nix - coming of age fantasy
Robert Asprin - comedic fantasy
Alexander McCall Smith - mystery, delightful dry wit
How about getting her into the Dresden Files rpg playtest. :) I seem to recall that she does not game, but this could be a good game for you to bring her into the fold.
