Zencore

Arkham Horror

Anyone try this game? I've gotten it recently (Christmas) and have tried one game so far with my son - we lost bad.

We are getting ready to try it again, with both of us playing 2 "characters" - hopefully with more sucess...

Fun game though..

The game's quickly become one of my group's favorites, right up there with Risk 2210, Illuminati, and Munchkin. We've played it a bunch of times, and think we're running about 50/50 on the win/loss ratio. It's easily the most complex game we have -- hell, I think it took us two hours to set the thing up the first night, but that gets easier with time.

What we enjoy most is the chance to play a game in which we're all working together to fight the Big Bad Evil. Combined with a mechanic that can have everyone sitting on the edge of their seats, well, it just kicks ass.

A group that enjoys Arkham AND Illuminati and Munchkin?! I wish you lived closer to me so I could crash that party. Some of my favorite games right there.

We used to play *A LOT* of Illuminati, but got kind of burned out on after playing it every day at GenCon. It's still one of our favorites though, and I'm hoping we'll be able to get another game in this spring after I pick up the reprinted Brainwash expansion.

I think our favorite Munchkin game right now is Munchkin Cthulhu. The "Cultists" mechanic -- in which your character gets a bonus for each other person with the Cultist class -- is great, and led to some interesting factions when we played the game. I'd also like to pick up an expansion or two for this game.

AH is definitely a favorite around here. We have found that the more players, the more fun. On occasion, my husband has even played it by himself, though.
