Post-Potter Depression

It's a sad thing, but my wife is going through a post- Harry Potter depression. He loved reading those, and alas, they are gone. Has anyone got any suggestions for her on what to attack next?

I really enjoyed Robin Hobb's Assassin trilogy. I should see if I still have them.

Dresden Files, dude! Jim Butcher Rocks! And if Mrs. Miller is in more of a fantasy mood, his Alera Codex series is also extremely well done and a great read.

Ahhh. She has finished the Dresden files, save for the newest, which we are waiting for in paperback. :)

How about His Dark Materials? The books are better than the movie(s).
If she likes the whole Urban Fantasy genre, I'd recommend Charles DeLint & Wil Sheppardly.
If she wants a classic Fantasy series, Elizabeth Moon's Paksenarrion series is very good.
Lois McMaster Bujold has a new series based in a fantasy world called The Sharing Knife. Another series from her is the Curse of Charon series, also very good.
Tanya Huff is an excellent author with multiple series - one an Urban Fantasy, another a pure Fantasy world.

I've really enjoyed the Simon R. Green's books about the Nightside. I don't have a list in front of my but very fun books and series.

My wife and I are reading The Dresden Files (oops, you already said you've read those).

Have you read Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire books? I've read the first two and I really like her use of p.o.v.

I think the Southern Vampire books are great. I just finished the latest 2 of these.

Other possible books to replace Harry Potter are from Tamora Pierce - Protector of the Small series and other series

Terry Pratchett - fantasy, coming of age, mystery, satire, comedy, and so so much more :)
Garth Nix - coming of age fantasy
Robert Asprin - comedic fantasy
Alexander McCall Smith - mystery, delightful dry wit

So, which of our suggestions has Kathy followed up on?
